Winter Futsal Training - Rochester Euro FC

What is Futsal?

Futsal is the official five-a-side indoor soccer game and the only indoor soccer recognized by FIFA, the governing body of soccer worldwide. Futsal is beginning to take the country by storm as more and more American soccer players, coaches, clubs and associations discover the unique and positive qualities of Futsal. It is a game played around the world. Many of today’s world stars begin their youth soccer by playing Futsal. The Brazilians attribute their world soccer success to Futsal. Ronaldo has credited Futsal with developing “…quick foot control, fast thinking and awareness”. Pointers to more resources on Futsal are provided below.

How is Futsal organized by Euro FC?

Training sessions will be held 3 times per week (2 - 90 minute training sessions and a 60-minute scrimmage each week) starting November 1, 2010. There will be a single charge of $300 that covers all the sessions in November, January, February and March. Even if multiple sessions are missed for personal reasons, players have a chance to get a lot of Futsal training for a reasonable per-hour price. Plans are for three 90-minute sessions on each of the training days to allow for more tailored training for the wide range of players' ages and skill levels. Players will be able to choose two out of three training days to provide some schedule flexibility.

SESSION TIMES 2010-2011

Mon/Tues/Wed - Rochester National Guard Armory, 1715 Marion Road SE

  • 1st session: 4-5:30 PM (Boys U15 and up)
  • 2nd session: 5:30-7PM (Boys and Girls U14 and under)
  • 3rd session: 7-8:30PM (Girls U15 and up)

Fridays - RCTC Regional Sports Center Fieldhouse (be aware that some Friday sessions will be at the Armory due to RCTC busy schedule)

  • 1st session: 5-6:20PM (Boys U15 and up)
  • 2nd session: 6:20-7:40 PM (Boys and Girls U14 and under)
  • 3nd session: 7:40-9 PM (Girls U15 and up)

Players can pick any two of the Mon/Tue/Wed days to attend and one of the Friday sessions. Players should not attend sessions other than their age group without direction from Wesley. During the first couple of weeks players will be evaluated and Wesley will recommend some players change session times based on skill levels to ensure that they have the right level of training. If needed, the sessions will be adjusted again in January to optimize for the final mix of players participating.
